What Is Automatic Mesh Based Defeaturing In ANSYS Meshing?
You can adjust the Automatic Mesh Based Defeaturing option in ANSYS Mesher as shown by red box above.
This option, defeatures the small or dirty geometries according to the Defeaturing Tolerance value that you entered. In volume meshing, if you do other sizing for local sections, this sizing option will overridden on the mesh based defeaturing that is being stated here.
The default defeaturing tolerance value is 75% of minimum size of mesh structure that defined by you for volume meshing, and 50% of minimum size of mesh structure for surface meshing.
Defeaturing tolerance value is automatically updated according to your min size mesh values if it is in default option.
If there is close vertices in geometry, automatic mesh based defeaturing can resolve this problem.
