General Expression Of All Manufacturing Processes
Fluids are generally used in finite element analysis(FEA) physical situations called CFD. So it is very important to adjust the meshing according to the fluids or CFD. ANSYS® provides very useful meshing capabilities or meshing tools for CFD problems. One of these meshing options for CFD problems in ANSYS® is the Shape Checking criterion. In this article of Mechanical Base we will explain;
The default option for Shape Checking criterion ANSYS® Mechanical is Standard Mechanical. If you have a physical problem with fluids, you can adjust the Shape Checking criterion to CFD as shown by the red arrow above.
CFD Shape Checking criterion uses the element volume method for non-assembly meshing algorithms. But if it is an assembly meshing algorithm, orthogonal quality shape checking criterion is used for the CFD Shape Checking option.
It is strongly recommended to use the CFD Shape checking criterion by selecting the Physics Preference as ‘CFD’ also, as shown by the red arrow above in ANSYS® Meshing.
Do not forget to leave your comments and questions below about the CFD Shape checking in ANSYS® Meshing.
