Fiber Structures In Reinforced Composites
Fillet geometries are very important in 3D engineering designs that you need to consider them everytime. In Siemens NX, you can both create fillets on 3D geometries, or at sketches. In here, we will tell you how to create fillet geometries on 2D sketches in Siemens NX,with a very basic example below.
To use fillet command in Siemens NX, you need to be inside a active sketch like above. In an active sketch, click on ‘Fillet’ command as shown by red arrow above then click to select corners as shown by green arrows to be filleted. After selecting the corners, you can enter the radius value for your fillet geometry as shown in green box.

There are two options to create fillet geometries. In above example, the first one is selected as shown in red box. First one is the fillet geometry that corners are trimmed.
The trimmed corners are like above with fillet command in Siemens NX.
If you select the second option from red box above, the fillet geometry in skecth will be untrimmed like below.
As you see again, corners are untrimmed if you select the second option.
If you select the option that is shown by green arrow above in Fillet command, the created fillet geometry will be like this as shown by red arrow above in Siemens NX.
