Dimensioning Aligned Entities Linearly In AutoCAD(Illustrated Expression)
We explained all the aspects of Linear Dİmesion in Autocad before. But in some situations, you need to linearly dimension an aligned or angled entities. There is a special command in Autocad does this job. In this content, we will explain the use of ‘Aligned’ command to dimension angled entities in Autocad with a very basic example below.
How To Use ‘Aligned’ Command In AutoCAD?
For example, we need to dimension the given angled linear object as shown by blue arrow. To do this in Autocad, click on little pop up menu as shown by green arrow, then click on ‘Aligned’ command to do it.
After entering into the ‘Aligned’ command in Autocad, click to select the first point of aligned feature as shown by green arrow. Then click to select the second point as shown by red arrow. As you see above, linear and aligned dimension will appear. You just click third time to place your linear aligned dimension line in Autocad.
You can also edit your aligned dimension by double clicking on that as above in Autocad. Select the all dimension text as above with ‘Ctrl+A’;
You can edit the height of dimension text as shown by red arrow in Autocad.
You can edit the formatting of the aligned dimension text such as boldness, itallic, color, font etc. as shown by green arrow above. You can also add symbols such as technical drawing symbols as shown by blue arrow above in Autocad.
After you done with editing the linear aligned dimension text, just press ‘Esc’ from your keyboard then press ‘Enter’ to save changes.
