Drawing Arcs With Different Methods In Siemens NX Sketching

Sketch drawing commands are very easy in Siemens NX. Also drawing arcs in Siemens NX sketching is also very easy. In here, we explain how to draw arcs in Siemens NX with ‘Arc’command.

How To Sketch Arc In Siemens NX?

Click on ‘Arc’ command in Siemens NX.

To draw arcs in Siemens NX, you need to open an active sketch in Siemens NX. After opening an active sketch in Siemens NX, click on ‘Arc’ command as shown by red arrow above.

Arc drawing methods in Siemens NX.

If you enter the ‘Arc’ command in Siemens NX, you can see there are two different arc drawing methods and two different input methods as shown in red box above.

First, let us explain the inpur modes for arc drawing. As you see above example, the first input mode is selected as shown by green arrow above. In the first input mode, you can draw your arc by directly entering X and Y coordinates as shown in green box. Enter the X coordinate for first point location, press ‘Tab’ from your keyboard, and enter Y coordinate. You need to do this for all points that needed to be defined.

Enter a radius value for arc in Siemens NX.

In the second input mode for arc drawing in Siemens NX, you need to define radius value, and manually click yo select required points to draw arc. As you see, the second input mode is selected as shown by green arrow above.

In first arc method, you need to define three points to obtain arc geometry. In secons arc drawing method, you need to define start and end poins of your arc and radius of that arc. You can use one of them to draw arc.

Second method of arc drawing and second method of input.

In second method of arc drawing and second method of input, you need to enter the ‘Radius’ value and ‘Sweep Angle’ value. Sweep angle means that the arc geometry will span this angle.

Arc is drawn as above.

Drawing arcs in Siemens NX is very easy like above. Do not forget to leave your comments and questions about drawing arc in Siemens NX below. Your precious feedbacks are very important for us.
