Drilling Counterbored Screw Clearance Hole In Siemens NX(Illustrated Expression)

How To Drill  Counterbored Screw Clearance Hole In Siemens NX?

Click on Hole command in Siemens NX interface.

To drill the counterbored screw clearance hole in Siemens NX, click on the Hole command as shown by red arrow above.

Select the Screw Clearance Hole option.

After entering to the Hole command, select the Screw Clearance Hole from the pop up menu as shown by red arrow above in Siemens NX.

Specify the hole locations.

In Position section shown by red box above, you need to select the face that you want to create the holes on it as shown by red arrow above.

Select the exact hole locations on this face in Hole command.

After the face is selected, a special section will be opened. In this section you can select the exact hole locations by putting points with your mouse as shown by red arrows above. If you complete the specification of points, click on Finish from the right-top section to turn back to Hole command.

Select the direction of hole.

You can select the direction of your counterbored screw clearance holes from the red box;

Normal To Face: The counterbored screw clearance hole is drilled normal to the selected face.

Along Vector: Also you can select a line or a axis to define the hole’s direction from the drawing scheme in Siemens NX.

Select the Counterbored form.

You need to select the Counterbored screw clearance hole form as shown by red box above in Siemens NX.

Select the Counterbored Screw Type.

Select the counterbored screw type as shown in red box above such as; Socket Head, Shoulder Screw, Cheese Head, Pan Head, Hex Head etc.

Select the screw size for counterbored screw clearance hole in Siemens NX.

Select a standart screw size from the red box region such as M10, M15 etc. in Siemens NX Hole command.

Select the Fit Option for counterbored screw clearance hole.

Select a Fit situation for screw hole such as Close, Normal or Loose. Also you can define it as Custom by yourself according to your mechanical application.

Select a depth value method as shown by red box above.

Cone Tip: Depth will be determined according to cone tip as shown by green arrow.
