In some cases, you want to use a mesh structure in other software that you created in ANSYS® Mesher. In this case, you need to export the mesh structure as a .stl file to open this mesh structure in another software. Saving mesh structure in ANSYS® as .stl format is very simple. Here, we will explain how to save the mesh structure created in ANSYS® Mechanical, as a .stl file.
For example, we have a mesh structure as above that is created in ANSYS Mechanical and we want to use this mesh in another software. We must save it as a .stl file as above in ANSYS. To do it, just click on the ‘Mesh’ section in the outline tree as shown by the green arrow then hover your mouse on the ‘Export..’ section. Then click on ‘STL file’ to save it as .stl.
