We explained the extracting bodies from another bodies in Siemens NX. We can do this kind of things with ‘Extract Geometries’ command. Also you can extract faces with this command. In this article we will explain the extracting faces with ‘Extract Geometries’ command in Siemens NX with a very basic example below.
For example we want to extract the face as shown by red arrow above from that body in Siemens NX.
To do it, click on pop up menu named as ‘More’ as shown by green arrow then click on ‘Extract Geometry’ command as shown by green box above.
After entering into the command, click on ‘Face’ option from pop up menu as in green box.
Select the face that needed to be extracted from a body as shown by green arrow above in ‘Extract Geometry’ command.
Settings above are very important to know about ‘Extract Geometry’ command in Siemens NX.
Associative: If you select this option, created geometry will not be independent body from its parent object. There will be a link between the parent and the extracted body.
Hide Original: If you choose this option, the parent object will be disappear from drawing screen of Siemens NX.
Use Display Properties Of Parent Object: If you assigned some kinds of appearences or colors to your parent body, same appearance properties will be valid for the new object if you select this option.
Copy Threads: All the parent properties of parent objects will be copied to newly created body.
If you done with the extracting bodies with ‘Extract Geometry’ command in Siemens NX, click on ‘OK’ or ‘Apply’ button as shown in red box above.
