Drawing Lines Effectively In AutoCAD(Illustrated Expression)
In this article we will show you how to use Extrude command in Siemens NX and you will learn the whole features of Siemens NX Extrude command. As you know extrusion process is a basis 3D geometry creation command in general CAD softwares as Siemens NX. With the Extrude command, you can obtaion the base 3D geometry in Siemens NX, then you can add other features on it.

To make a extrusion in Siemens NX, you need to click on the Extrude command as shown by blue arrow above.
After entering to the command of Extrude in Siemens NX, you need to select the primary profile sketch as shown by blue arrow above. You can select the set of curves as shown in blue box.
As default, the vector of Extrude command in Siemens NX is normal to the sketch surface. You can choose another direction vector as shown by blue arrow above fort he Extrude command in Siemens NX.
In the limits section of Siemens NX Extrude command, you can simply enter the starting offset value. If you enter a value to the start section of Limits tab, the extrusion process will start from offseted basis from sketch plane.
If you select the Symmetric Value from the blue box, the extrusion process will be done in two directions of the sketch plane.
Until Selected: The extrusion process will start from the selected feature from drawing scheme.
Until Extended: The extrusion process start from the selected face or plane.
The same options for Start in Extrude command is also valid for End option as shown by blue box above.
You can enter the Start and End value directly from the blue box above. Also you can adjust the Boolean options;
None: Default option for boolean in Siemens NX Extrude command.
Unite: If the created 3D geometry from extrusion process intersects with other 3D geometry in drawing scheme, you can select Unite for boolean then select the other geometry to Unite two of them in Siemens NX.
Subtract: If the created 3D geometry from extrusion process intersects with other 3D geometry in drawing scheme, you could carve out the other 3D sketch by using the obtained exrusion 3D geometry by selectin this.
Intersect: If the created 3D geometry from extrusion process intersects with other 3D geometry in drawing scheme, you can only obtain the intersection geometry of two of these geometries.
You can also enter a draft angle as From Start Limit that you just enter a angle value to obtain geometries as shown by red arrow above. Also if you have a plave or section inside the obtained geometry, you can select From section from the red box above to start your drafting angle from this section inside the Extruded geometry.
You can enter a offset value to obtain geometries as shown by red arrow above. You need to enter the offset start and end values in Siemens NX. You can also obtain Offset structure as Two-Sided, Single-Sided or Symmetric from the red box option above.
If you want to obtain a sheet structure as shown by red arrow above from Extrude command in Siemens NX, you need to eadjust the Body Type option from Solid to Sheet as shown by red box above. When you done with the all otions of Extrude commandi click on OK or Apply to complete in Siemens NX.
