Face Blend is very useful and versatile command in Siemens NX to obtain much more professional fillet geometries at required edges in 3D geometries. In this article we will explain the use of Face Blend command and its all features with very basic examples.
We will explain the Face Blend command in Siemens NX with a very basic example as you see above. Click on little pop up menu as shown by red arrow above then click on ‘Face Blend’ command as shown in red box above.
After entering into the ‘Face Blend’ command as shown by above, click to select the first and the second face to obtain blended edges as shown by red arrow and green arrow. Then enter a radius value as shown in green box above.
You can select the ‘Three-face’ option as shown in green box above in Face Blend command. In this option, you need to only select the first face as shown by green arrow, opposite face as shown by red arrow then middle face as shown by blue arrow above in Siemens NX. A blended geometry will be obtain as shown in Preview above in Siemens NX.
You can select other types of Orientation, Width Method and Shape as shown in blue box above for Edge Blend. The explanations are appears next to them when you hover your mouse on them as above.
You can also specift the radius value as variable radius by selecting the Radius Methos as ‘Variable’ as above. Select the required curves on blends then click on ‘Specify New Location’ then select the varying radius locations as shown by blue arrows above as list. You can specify these locations’ radius values as shown in blue box above in Siemens NX.
Click on Apply or OK buttons to complete the Face Blending in Siemens NX.
