To obtain 3D geometries in Siemens NX, you need to first create your skethes. Then you can use various 3D feature commands of Siemens NX. In this article, we will show you how to open a sketch on a surface or a plane in Siemens NX.
How To Open Sketch On A Surface Or Plane In Siemens NX?
To open sketch in Siemens NX, you need to click on the ‘Sketch’ command to open a sketch as shown by blue arrow above.
After entering into the ‘Sketch’ command, specify the plane or face as shown by blue arrow above. For example, if you want to create a sketch on a 3D geometry surface, you can select that surface as plane.
Also you can create your plane in ‘Sketch’ command.
Specify a sensible vector to define your sketch’s positive direction as shown by green arrow above in Siemens NX.
Then specify the reference point of your sketch that will be the reference point when you create your sketches on that selected planor surface, as shown by red arrow.
Then click on ‘OK’ button to open sketch on a plane or surface in Siemens NX.
Now you are in an active sketch in Siemens NX. There are lots of curve and sketch drawing commands are appeared. If you want to finish your sketch to obtain 3D geometries with 3D commands, you can click on ‘Finish Sketch’ command as shown by red arrow above.
Opening an active sketch in Siemens NX is very simple like above. Do not forget to leave your comments and questions about ‘Opening a sketch in Siemens NX’ below!
