Large deflection is one of the most important in analysis settings in ANSYS® Mechanical static structural and transient structural analyses. If you expecting large deflections from your analyses, you need to turn on this option in ANSYS® Mechanical.

By default, large deflection is ‘Off’ mode in ANSYS® Structural analyses. If you turn the large deflection option ‘On’, you will face more solution time and more requirements of the computational source. So, a good estimation and evaluation of the structural system before building the ANSYS® analyses is very important.
