Creating Singleline And Multiline Text In AutoCAD(Illustrated Expression)
Dimensioning is very important aspect of technical drawings. You can easily obtain technical drawings in Autocad and give proper dimensions to them. In this article, we will explain the all the aspects of ‘Linear Dimensioning’ of 2D objects in Autocad with a very basic example below.
To open linear dimension command in Autocad, just click on ‘Linear’ command as shown by red arrow above.
After entering into the ‘Linear’ command in Autocad, click to select the first point as shown by red arrow then click to select the second point that linear dimension will be created between them as above in Autocad. Then place your dimension line by clicking third time.
You can change the created linear dimension’s properties as above by double clicking on that dimension in Autocad. After double clicking, you can change the height of text as shown in green box. But you need to select the all text with ‘Ctrl+A’.
Also you can change the font, boldness, itallic and color etc. as same principle with text height, as in red box above.
You can add symbols such as technical drawing symbols from the ‘Symbol List’ as shown by red arrow above in Autocad.
After you done with adjustments of your linear dimension in Autocad, click on ‘Esc’ button then press ‘Enter’ to save changes.
