Creating And Editing Section Planes Effectively In ANSYS® Mechanical
In some cases, you want to look at the whole information of selected items or selected nodes and elements in ANSYS® Mechanical. It is very easy to do in ANSYS® Mechanical. Here, we explain how to look at the whole information of selected features in ANSYS® Mechanical outline tree or graphics window.
For example, we selected the face of geometry in ANSYS® Mechanical as shown by the red arrow, to look at the information’s about this surface.
YOU CAN LEARN ANSYS® IN MECHANICAL BASE; Click And Start To Learn ANSYS®!
Click on the ‘View’ menu as shown by the green arrow above, then hover your mouse on the ‘Windows’ section. From the opened drop-down menu select the ‘Selection Information’ as shown in the green box.
As you see above, there is a bunch of useful information about the selected face in the ‘Selection Information’ window. There is information on the surface area, centroid about the X, Y, and Z axes.
For example, again, we selected a bunch of nodes as you see above, and all the information related to selected nodes is shown. This information is the place of selected nodes in terms of X, Y, and Z axes and node ID numbers.
Also if you select the mesh elements as above in ANSYS® Mechanical, you can see the information of; Element ID, Element Type which can be very useful information, and on which body does it exist.
Also, you can take a look at the masses and volumes of bodies, lengths of line elements, etc.
As you see that ‘Selection Information’ window is a very useful tool to obtain information about various features on the graphics window in ANSYS® Mechanical.
