To use 2D commands in Siemens NX, you need to open an active sketch in Siemens NX. Drawing rectangle in Siemens NX is a very easy process. In this article, we explained how to draw rectangles with ‘Rectangle’ command in an active sketch in Siemens NX, with a very basic example below.
To draw rectangles in an Siemens NX active sketch, click on ‘Rectangle’ command in Siemens NX as shown by green arrow above.
As you see above, there are three methods of drawing rectangles in Siemens NX. For first method as shown by green arrow above, you need to click to select the upper corner of rectangle as shown by blue arrow, then the lower corner of rectangle as shown by red arrow in Siemens NX.
There are also two of input modes to create rectangles in Siemens NX sketching. For the second mode as shown by orange arrow above, you can enter ‘Width’ and ‘Height’ values directly of the created rectangle as in red box above. You can enter width value from your keyboard, then press ‘Tab’ to enter the height value. Then click to create rectangle with this mode.
With the second method of rectangle drawing as shown by green arrow above, you create rectangle by selecting three of corners by clicking on drawing plane, blue arrow, orange arrow and magenta arrow respectively.
The also with first input mode as shown by red arrow above, you can define ‘X’ and ‘Y’ coordinates of each corner respectively.
First and second input modes can be used at three of rectangle drawing methods in Siemens NX.
In third method to draw rectangle in Siemens NX as shown by green arrow above, first you can select the center of rectangle as shown by red arrow above. Then you can select the second point as shown by blue arrow. Finally you can select the place of corner as shown by orange arrow to create rectangle.
Both of input modes can be used for third method to draw rectangles in Siemens NX.
