Scaling is also avaliable in Siemens NX 3D CAD. But you can scale your 2D sketches also in Siemens NX sketching. In here, we explain how to sketch your skecthes in Siemens NX with ‘Scale Curve’ command, with a very basic example below.
To use ‘Scale Curve’ command in Siemens NX, you need to be inside an active sketch. Or if you want to scale a sketch in Siemens NX sketching, you need to in the mode of editing it like above. Click on ‘Scale Curve’ command as shown by orange arrow above.
After entering into the ‘Scale Curve’ command, select the curves to be scaled as shown by blue arrow above. Then specify the point that all the curves will be scaled according to that as shown by red arrow above. Select the second point that the scaling will be done between these selected points.
Enter the ‘Scale Factor’ that the distance between selected two points will be multiplied with this factor. For example, 0.5 scale factor will make the distance 50% smaller from original one.
If you select the Scaling option as ‘Distance’ as shown in orange box, you can enter a distance value that distance between two points will be changed with this value. And other portions of sketch will be scaled according to this. Enter your value as shown by red arrow above.
If you select the scaling method as ‘Dimension’ as shown by red arrow above, you can select a dimension from sketch as shown by green arrow above, then enter a new value for this dimension as shown in green box. Other portions will be scaled according to this again.
