In ANSYS® meshing, there are a bunch of mesh optimization tools and you need to optimize your mesh structure according to your physical model in ANSYS®. One of these mesh optimization tools is the ‘Span Angle Center’ option. In this article we will explain;
To adjust the Span Angle Center, click on the ‘Mesh’ tab as shown by the red arrow above then click on the little pop-up menu at the Span Angle Center section as shown by the red box above, then select an option such as Coarse, Medium and Fine.
The Span Angle Center option is the curvature mesh refinement. The mesh structure is divided into curved regions until individual mesh elements span this curvature angle. You can choose one out of three choices as;
Coarse: 91-60 degrees of angle will be spanned.
Medium: 75-24 degrees of angle will be spanned.
Fine: 36-12 degrees of angle will be spanned in the mesh structure.
The mesh will be finer in curvature regions if you select lower angle values for the Span Angle Center option in ANSYS® Meshing.
The general case of the Span Angle Center option in ANSYS® Meshing is like that.
