What Is Total Thickness Inflation Option In ANSYS® Meshing?

Select the ‘ Total Thickness’ option for Inflation Option in ANSYS® Meshing

To adjust the inflation option to Totaş Thickness, click on the ‘Mesh’ tab as shown by the red arrow above then click on the Inflation section as shown by the green arrow. Then select the Inflation Option as Total Thickness as shown in the green box in ANSYS® Meshing.

Total Thickness option in ANSYS® Meshing creates inflated layers by using the entered number of layers and growth rate to obtain maximum thickness value.

Enter the required values for the Total Thickness inflation option in ANSYS® Meshing.

Number Of Layer: Total layers that you want to have in your layered mesh structure.

Growth Rate: The rate of increments in adjacent mesh elements starting from the selected face.

Maximum Thickness: The thickness value of the layered mesh structure in ANSYS® Meshing. This thickness value will be achieved with the Number of Layers and Growth Rate values that you entered.
