Solidworks has various kinds of sketch trimming options inside it. These sketch trimming options can be very useful for various situations. One of the trimming options in Solidworks sketching is ‘Trim Away Inside’ trimming option. In this article we will show you how to trim the entities with ‘Trim Away Inside’ command in Solidworks.
For example we want to trim the entities as shown by red arrows above. To do it, click on the ‘Trim Entities’ command as shown by green arrow above in Solidworks sketching.
To use the ‘Trim Entities’ command, you need to inside an active sketch a above.
After entering into the ‘Trim Entities’ command in Solidworks sketching, click on ‘Trim Away Inside’ option as shown in red box above. Then select the two of boundry objects for trimming operation in Solidworks sketching as shown by red arrows.
After selecting the two boundries for ‘Trim Away Outside’ option, click to trim away the required entities as shown by red arrows above in Solidworks sketching.
If you done with trimming operation with ‘Trim Away Inside’ options, click to the little yes button as shown by red arrow above to complete the trimming operation in Solidworks sketching.
So it is very basic to use ‘Trim Away Inside’ command in Solidworks sketching.
